This week we're off to River Surfing at Kawarau River. Grade 2 - Grade 3 River. I'm pretty excited at the same time scared as its gonna be COLD!!!
It is a massive river with high volume of water compared to Sungai Kampar in Gopeng. It is good to see the difference of grading of river.
putting on a wet suit, bootie and gloves make me feel so safe. I fit into a kid's size wet suit! I don't think I'm all that small eh?
anyway.. I had good fun going down the river but I have to say I expected more. It wasn't as challenging as I thought it to be. only 3 big rapids and the rest is floating on water. We had 2 runs down the river and the second run, we were taught to surf the waves which was really fun! be learn to get sucked down too and pop up somewhere else! I got sucked all the way down and boy I had to swim so hard to the top and the board was still pulling me down! That gave me a fright for a while..
great trip out there. Looking forward to the next one!
